3 Division Nigerian Army Rewards Soldiers with Electric Motorcycles
The 3 Division of the Nigerian Army has recognized outstanding soldiers with electric motorcycles to enhance operational efficiency and promote environmental sustainability.
The distribution ceremony took place on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at Maxwell Khobe Cantonment, Jos, with Major General AE Abubakar, General Officer Commanding (GOC) and Commander of Operation SAFE HAVEN, presiding. He emphasized the initiative aligns with the Chief of Army Staff’s vision to prioritize troop welfare and administration.
The motorcycles, capable of reaching speeds up to 40 km/h and traveling 100 km on a full two-hour charge, provide an eco-friendly alternative to traditional vehicles. A dedicated charging facility has been established to ensure convenience for personnel.
Major General Abubakar noted that this initiative builds on a similar program introduced in 2022, under former GOC Major General AB Ibrahim, and complements other welfare projects, including renovated accommodations and office complexes.
The event concluded with the presentation of keys to the beneficiaries and a group photograph, reinforcing the Division’s commitment to rewarding excellence and promoting sustainability.

“Rather than play the ostrich and cover up clear terrorism as mere farmer-herder clashes, the Nigerian state has a responsibility to invade the camps of armed marauders who hide under the cloak of herdsmen of whatever ethnicity, and who invade defenceless communities and gleefully massacre unarmed men, women and children.”
