TIME magazine has unveiled its 2026 TIME100 Next list, recognising 100 emerging figures whose work and influence are shaping the next generation.

Among the musicians recognised on this year’s list are RAYE, Troye Sivan, PinkPantheress, Megan Moroney, Conan Gray, Alex Warren and Sombr.

The list recognises rising figures across entertainment, sports, business, technology, fashion, media, arts and other fields. RAYE, who is featured on one of the three worldwide covers for the 2026 TIME100 Next issue, is also set to perform at the TIME100 Next event in New York on October 29.

Other entertainers recognised on the list include Druski, Ashley Padilla, Charles Melton, Eiza González, Joey King, Chase Sui Wonders, Molly Gordon, Cooper Hoffman and Yerin Ha, among others.

Colleen Hoover is making headlines once again as her bestselling psychological thriller Verity has been adapted into a movie.

The film stars Anne Hathaway, Dakota Johnson and Josh Hartnett, with Hathaway playing the titular character, Verity Crawford, Johnson as struggling writer Lowen Ashleigh and Hartnett as Jeremy Crawford. Other cast members include Ismael Cruz Córdova and Brady Wagner. Directed by Michael Showalter and written by Nick Antosca, the movie is based on Hoover’s bestselling 2018 novel.

The movie follows Lowen Ashleigh, a struggling writer who is hired to complete the book series of acclaimed but incapacitated author Verity Crawford. After moving into Verity’s home, Lowen discovers a disturbing manuscript that reveals dark secrets about the family and leaves her questioning what is real and what is fiction.

It can be recalled that Colleen Hoover gained significant attention in the movie industry after her books It Ends With Us and It Starts With Us became major talking points, with It Ends With Us adapted into a 2024 film starring Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni.

Verity is scheduled to be released in cinemas on October 2, 2026

Former Big Brother Naija star Cross Okonkwo has spoken about the security situation in Nigeria after alleging that he was robbed by a street beggar in Lagos.

Cross shared his experience after the incident, which he said occurred in the Ikate area of Lekki, Lagos, while several beggars approached his vehicle.

According to the reality TV star, one of the men reached into his car, took an item and ran away. “Federal government, I just got robbed. All these beggars, they were in my window talking to me. I did not refuse the guy and he just ripped off something from my car and ran away,” Cross said.

“Nigeria is not safe. Federal government, what kind of mistake are you guys doing allowing these guys on the street?” he added.

“This Lagos, I don’t understand why you guys are allowing these people to be on the street. This is unfair,” Cross said
