Chelsea’s latest signing, Willian Estevão, has set his sights on a specific shirt number as he prepares to make his mark at Stamford Bridge.
The highly-rated 17-year-old forward, who currently plays for Brazilian club Palmeiras, will officially join the London side in the summer of 2025 once he turns 18.
Estevão, widely regarded as one of Brazil’s most promising young talents, was secured by Chelsea for an initial fee of €34 million.
The deal could rise further with performance-related add-ons, demonstrating the club’s confidence in his potential.
His contract will keep him with the Blues until 2033, signaling a long-term investment in his development.
Speaking about his future at Chelsea in an interview with ESPN Brasil, Estevão expressed his preference for the number 41 jersey, the same number he currently wears at Palmeiras.
“If they give me the shirt #41 as I have at Palmeiras, it will be cool,” he said, highlighting his attachment to the number that has brought him success so far.
