Cafu Says Cristiano Ronaldo is Not the Greatest Player of All Time
Brazilian football legend Cafu has told Cristiano Ronaldo that he doesn’t consider him the best player in history.
Cafu responded to Ronaldo’s bold claim of being the most complete footballer ever, acknowledging his incredible talent but placing other football icons ahead of him.
The former right-back, who won two World Cups with Brazil, mentioned Diego Maradona, Pelé, Michel Platini, Franz Beckenbauer, and Garrincha as players who were more deserving of the title.
In an interview, Cafu explained, “Cristiano is a phenomenon, but not the greatest of all time. If we’re talking about all-time greatness, players like Maradona, Pelé, Platini, Beckenbauer, and Garrincha must be mentioned.”
Ronaldo has already scored over 900 goals in his career and is aiming for 1,000, but Cafu feels there were players who played better across the entire history of football.
Head coach of Atletico Madrid, Diego Simeone, speaks on team defense and called out a player who needs to toughen up. He shared that Ademola Lookman needs to work on defense.
“Ademola Lookman arrived with great enthusiasm and desire to keep growing. We need him to add defensive work to what he already gives us offensively, because he has that ability,” he then added.
“He’s shown it with the Nigeria national team, and we need him in that role.”

While also praising Bukayo Saka for being the winger in form right now.
When asked in a recent interview, he stated “For the best right now, it’s probably [Bukayo] Saka for his all-around game. I will go Salah, because the numbers he’s put up are ridiculous.”
