“Over My Dead Body” – Arteta Refuses to Give Up on Premier League Title
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has made it clear that he won’t give up on the Premier League title until it’s completely out of reach.
The Gunners head into their midweek clash trailing league leaders Liverpool by 11 points. Their recent 1-0 home defeat to West Ham was a major setback, as it cost them the chance to cut the gap to just five points. Liverpool capitalized on Arsenal’s slip-up by securing a 2-0 win over Manchester City.
With a game against Nottingham Forest up next, Arteta was asked if he still believed in Arsenal’s title chances.
“Over my dead body,” he responded. “If I stop believing, I might as well go home. Mathematically, it’s still possible.
“To win the Premier League, you have to do something special. And in our situation, we may need to achieve something that’s never been done before in this league’s history.”
