Jennifer Lopez Sued for Posting Paparazzi Photo Without Permission

Jennifer Lopez has landed in legal trouble over a photo she once shared on her Instagram Story. The pop star and actress is being sued for $150,000 after posting an image of herself holding hands with then-boyfriend Alex Rodriguez back in 2017. The photo, taken by a paparazzi agency called Splash News, is at the center of the dispute.
The agency claims Lopez didn’t ask for permission before posting the image, which they say is a violation of their copyright. Since professional agencies like Splash News make money by licensing their images to media outlets, they argue that her sharing it freely on social media damaged their business.
This isn’t the first time Jennifer has been called out over photo use online. In a separate case, photographer Steve Sands filed a lawsuit against her and her company, Nuyorican Productions. He’s also demanding $150,000, saying she posted one of his pictures without a license to promote her brand to her millions of followers.
Jennifer now joins a list of celebrities who’ve faced similar lawsuits — stars like Ariana Grande, Gigi Hadid, and Khloé Kardashian have all been sued for sharing paparazzi photos of themselves. These cases show that even if you’re the subject in the photo, it doesn’t mean you automatically have the right to post it.
