Alexander Isak Set to Join Liverpool as One of Their Top Earners
Alexander Isak is on track to become Liverpool’s third highest-paid player if his move from Newcastle goes through this summer. The Swedish striker has reportedly made it clear to Newcastle that he wants to leave, and Liverpool are eyeing a deal that could cost them around £150 million.
Although the Magpies initially insisted Isak wasn’t for sale, Liverpool turned their attention to Hugo Ekitike, signing him for £79 million. However, hopes of landing Isak have been reignited after he missed Newcastle’s pre-season tour of Asia, raising further questions about his future at the club.
According to reports, if the transfer happens, Isak would earn about £250,000 a week, matching Ekitike’s wages, which would place him just behind Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk on Liverpool’s wage list. Currently, Isak earns £120,000 a week at Newcastle.
