Bandana Cheyenna Drops New Single “God and the Crickets” About Chasing Dreams
Songwriter turned recording artist Bandana Cheyenna has released a new single titled ‘God and the Crickets’. This is a heartfelt track that tells the story of chasing dreams even when the world feels quiet. The song dropped on September 19, 2025, and is already striking a chord with listeners who know what it means to work hard without recognition.
Interestingly, the track wasn’t originally meant for her. Cheyenna revealed that she first penned it with another artist in mind, but the lyrics mirrored her own path so strongly that she decided to keep it for herself.
The single was co-written with MaRynn Taylor and Blake Ruby of Black River Entertainment, and produced by Herbie Mortera. Musically, it blends country and folk, and it echoes influences like Joni Mitchell, Stevie Nicks, and Kacey Musgraves.
Before stepping into the spotlight as a performer, Cheyenna made her mark behind the scenes. She co-wrote “Austin (Boots Stop Workin’)” for DASHĀ, “Cupid’s A Cowgirl” for Alexandra Kay, and several other tracks. Her songwriting earned her recognition at the 2024 People’s Choice Country Awards and honors at both the ASCAP Country Awards and the ASCAP Pop Awards. She has also performed live at events like the Nashville Pride Festival.
