Wilfred Ndidi Named Super Eagles Captain After Troost-Ekong’s Retirement
Super Eagles officially announce their new captain of the team as Wilfred Ndidi after the retirement of their former captain, William Troost-Ekong.
The player took to social media to express his gratitude and readiness for this new role.
“It’s a huge responsibility. With the help of the players, everything will be smooth,” he said.
He then added that he has already made plans with the team and has spoken to them. “We have conversations on the task ahead, and it is important for us to be together on the same page.”

The coach explained why the team was eliminated. “Morocco has gained everybody’s respect now,” Ouahbi said, adding: “It’s not because of what we’ve said. We’ve now shown it.

He shared that Mbekezile Mbokazi really stood out in the World Cup match against Canada.
Despite their loss, he praised the team’s performance. “It speaks volumes that Mbokazi [Mbekezile] was the best player on the South African team. I believe Okon also had considerable possession of the ball.”
