Ycee Says Nigerians No Longer Value Education And Speaks On Change of Culture
Nigerian singer Ycee makes headlines as he shares his concerns about society and what is becoming popular in today’s culture.
He stated that people are moving away from education in pursuit of online fame and trends, adding that it is affecting the upcoming generation.
“Nigerian society is no longer celebrating academic excellence. People don’t even want to go to school anymore. It’s not even Yahoo culture anymore; now we have a ‘Peller culture,’” he said.
“This ‘Olodo’ uprising we are witnessing is terrible. It feels like we are trying so hard to accommodate ignorance so people won’t feel bad, and now they seem to be the majority. The massive attack on Nigeria’s educational system is alarming, aside from kidnappings and Boko Haram attacks.”
