Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to restrain the police from using tear gas on peaceful protesters. As the #EndBadGovernment movements began nationwide on August 1, 2024, reports emerged of clashes between police and local miscreants in multiple states, including Abuja, Lagos, Kano, and Borno. In Abuja, police teargassed a group of protesters at Eagles Square despite the protest being approved for Moshood Abiola National Stadium. According to The Nation, the police attempted to disperse protesters by firing tear gas canisters, but the determined group continued their march.
