Ibitoye to NFF: Keep Eguavoen as Coach
Former Super Eagles media officer Toyin Ibitoye has called on the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to retain Austin Eguavoen as the head coach of the national team. This appeal came after Nigeria’s goalless draw against Rwanda in a 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier on Tuesday.
Ibitoye advised the NFF to halt their search for a foreign coach and allow Eguavoen to continue leading the team. Eguavoen was appointed as the interim coach after German coach Bruno Labbadia resigned. On social media, Ibitoye urged the NFF to give Eguavoen more time, saying, “Let’s see what he and the team can deliver in the coming months.”
