Israel Acknowledges Role in Escalating Conflict with Hezbollah Amid Deadly Attacks

Israel admitted to initiating a “new era” of war after two consecutive days of explosive attacks targeting Hezbollah in Lebanon.

On Tuesday, pager explosions killed several, including children, and wounded over 2,800. A second wave on Wednesday, involving walkie-talkies and phones, killed at least 20 and injured 450.

One explosion occurred during a Hezbollah funeral, with reports suggesting Hezbollah’s elite Radwan unit was heavily impacted. Israel believes the death toll is higher than officially reported.

This loan upgrade aligns with FCMB’s commitment to Nigeria’s 2060 net-zero target, offering affordable clean energy solutions as fuel costs rise.

FCMB’s Managing Director, Yemisi Edun, emphasized, “This loan provides accessible funding for clean energy, offsetting higher fuel costs and aiding sustainable growth.”

George Ogbonnaya, Group Head of Business Banking, added, “Our loan makes clean energy affordable, supporting jobs and environmental sustainability.”

MC Oluomo Elected New National President of NURTW, Calls for Unity Among Members

Musiliu Akinsanya, known as MC Oluomo, has been elected as the National President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) during the Union’s Quadrennial Delegate Conference on Saturday at the Zonal Secretariat in Osogbo.

Delegates from Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, and Ekiti states participated in the election, where Akinsanya ran unopposed.

The acting National President, Aliyu Issa-Ore, confirmed that the election complied with the Union’s Constitution, which designates the Southwest zone to nominate the national president.

Following his oath of office, Akinsanya called for unity among members and pledged to protect the Union’s interests, stating, “This is our union, and we must be committed to preservig it.”
