INEC has reported that results from the Edo State governorship election are being collated.

The INEC Result Viewing (IReV) portal has been activated, and Polling Unit results are uploaded.

Collation has also been completed for the 192 Wards, and most Local Government Areas have finished collation as well.

The designated officials are either already at the collation centre in Benin City or on their way, with State-level collation about to begin.

INEC also expressed concern over a reported threat to their office in Okpoba Okha Local Government Area, which caused a stampede that left one official injured.

INEC further condemned the demonstrations by political actors and their supporters at the State Head Office, calling the actions unnecessary and warning that no one will be allowed to disrupt the process or benefit from lawlessness.

INEC emphasized that the collation process will follow the Electoral Act 2022, and there is a mechanism to address complaints during collation, including the power to review results declared under duress.

INEC assured that they would use these powers if necessary.

INEC has also urged that accredited party agents, observers, and media be given unrestricted access to all collation centres.

Security agencies have been called upon to maintain the same level of professionalism as seen during the peaceful election.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has expressed his intention to be present at the 90th birthday celebration of Bishop David Oyedepo, the founder of Living Faith Church.

During the recent 70th birthday celebration of Oyedepo, held at the Faith Tabernacle in Ota, Ogun State, Obasanjo noted that he would be 107 years old when Oyedepo reached this milestone.

In his address to the congregation, Obasanjo playfully acknowledged the stages of life, saying, “Today marks your entry into the club of Septuagenarians.

Soon, you will transition to being an Octogenarian, and I will still be here to celebrate with you.

Following that, you will become a Nonagenarian, and I assure you, I will also be here for that occasion.”
