Eight Arrested in Connection with Arson Attack at National Open University, Imo State
The Imo State Police Command has arrested eight individuals in connection with the arson attack on the National Open University (NOUN) in Ezeoke Nsu, Ehime Mbano, and the partial destruction of former Senator Frank Ibezim’s residence.
The incident occurred on September 30, 2024, following rumors of an Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camp being established at the NOUN campus.
Senator Ibezim has denied the claims, stating the plan was for skills training for local youth, not the settlement of IDPs. Investigations are ongoing.

US President Donald Trump criticizes the Nigeria government once again after the increase of insecurity over the past few days. The president stated that the government is failing to protect Christian communities from the attacks going on.
