Published

on

Former U.S. President Donald Trump has canceled a scheduled interview with CBS’s *60 Minutes* ahead of the November 5 presidential election. CBS announced this development on its X account, stating that Trump would not be appearing as planned.

Trump’s campaign spokesman, Steven Cheung, clarified that while there were initial discussions about the interview, nothing was ever officially arranged. CBS confirmed that Vice President Kamala Harris will still feature in the upcoming episode.

The program has conducted interviews with presidential candidates for over 50 years and noted that the invitation for Trump remains open. Cheung criticized CBS for proposing live fact-checking during the interview, labeling it as an unprecedented demand. As both candidates campaign for the election, Harris has called for a second debate, while Trump has indicated he will not participate in any further debates.
