Kate Henshaw Fires Back at Critic Over National Duty Call

Nigerian actress Kate Henshaw has responded to a critic who urged her to “do more” for the country, making it clear she doesn’t feel obligated to justify her actions. The exchange followed Nigeria’s Independence Day celebrations on October 1, 2024, when an X user shared a photo and video of Henshaw in a green and white outfit, asking her to help fight corruption.
The critic praised Henshaw’s appearance but lamented Nigeria’s struggles, urging collective action to address corruption, insecurity, and underdevelopment. This comment sparked confusion, with another user questioning, “What exactly do you want her to do?”
Henshaw promptly replied, “So, I shouldn’t smile or wear clothes now?” She then addressed the critic directly, stating, “Your compliment on my attire, combined with your other comments, makes me wonder if you think I’m the problem here. I have no interest in proving my contributions to you. There are ‘rulers’ whose duties they haven’t fulfilled. Thanks.” She also shared a post that read, “Nigerians often avoid addressing the real issues and instead focus on other things. Complaining has become our national pastime. So, Madam Kate, ignore the trolls and keep succeeding. Nigerians will always be Nigerians.”
