Frank Lampard Declares Messi and Ronaldo Equal in Greatness
Chelsea legend Frank Lampard has expressed his belief that Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are on equal footing in the realm of football greatness.
In a recent interview with Diario AS, the former midfielder emphasized that neither player should be considered superior to the other.
Lampard, who faced both superstars during his career, acknowledged their extraordinary talents and contributions to the sport.
He noted that he has played against Ronaldo numerous times, particularly during the latter’s tenure at Manchester United, while also facing Messi in several memorable matches between Chelsea and Barcelona.
When discussing Messi, Lampard remarked, “For me individually, in terms of talent, he is probably the greatest ever in my opinion.”
However, he also praised Ronaldo for his impressive work ethic, dedication, and remarkable goal-scoring record.
“What he has done in terms of self-improvement, numbers, and hunger means they are just there together,” Lampard stated.
The football icon stressed the importance of respecting both players equally, stating, “It’s not fair to try and put one above the other.
They’ve been the most amazing players.” With such high praise, Lampard joins the many who recognize the unique talents and achievements of both Messi and Ronaldo as they continue to shape the landscape of football history.
