Tammy Abraham Expresses Desire to Revisit Nigeria Despite Choosing England
AC Milan striker Tammy Abraham has expressed his heartfelt desire to visit Nigeria again, reflecting on his deep connection to the country through his heritage and upbringing.
Born in Camberwell, London, to Nigerian parents, Abraham holds cherished memories of his time in Nigeria, a land rich in culture and tradition.
In a recent interview with Milan TV, the 27-year-old footballer shared his affection for the country, saying, “I have a few Nigerian friends.
I grew up in an area with many Nigerians, and I was raised with that culture. I’ve been to Nigeria, and I hope to go back soon. My mom often cooks Nigerian dishes.”
These words reveal how his Nigerian roots remain a significant part of his identity, influencing both his personal life and his football career.
Abraham’s journey in international football took a pivotal turn in 2017 when the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) made attempts to persuade him to represent the Super Eagles.
However, after careful consideration, he ultimately decided to commit his international career to the England national team.
Since making his competitive debut in 2020 against the Czech Republic, Abraham has earned 11 caps and netted three goals for the Three Lions, solidifying his place in the squad.
Despite his choice to represent England, Abraham’s fondness for Nigeria is undeniable.
He remains proud of his heritage and is eager to reconnect with the country that plays a crucial role in his family history.
As he continues to excel in his career with AC Milan, fans are hopeful that he will soon make a return to Nigeria, where he can further explore his roots and the vibrant culture that has shaped him.
