Former Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi has voiced his disappointment over the lack of visible responses from Nigerians to the nation’s current economic challenges, particularly among the youth. In an interview with Igbere TV, he expressed concern about the rising cost of living and fuel prices, noting that he expected a more vigorous reaction from citizens.

Amaechi remarked, “I anticipated more agitation, especially from the youth. I thought we would see protests in the streets, but it seems people are not expressing the level of anger I expected.” The former Rivers State governor, who held the transportation portfolio for nearly eight years under the Muhammadu Buhari administration, highlighted the absence of significant public pushback despite the ongoing economic pressures.
