Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, recently shared a cryptic message following an encounter with fellow Afrobeat star, Davido, at a London nightclub.

The two musicians, who have long been rumoured to have a tense relationship, were seen at the same club, fueling more speculation about the state of their rivalry.

According to reports, Davido, also known as the head of the 30 Billion Gang and one of Nigeria’s top music exports, was partying with his crew when Wizkid made an appearance.

However, the much-anticipated interaction between the two didn’t happen.

Instead, Wizkid reportedly walked past Davido’s table without engaging with him.

The snub didn’t go unnoticed by fans and attendees, especially considering both stars’ previous history.

Wizkid was said to be at the club to support his official disc jockey, DJ Tunez, who was performing that night.

Following the incident, Wizkid took to his X (formerly Twitter) account to share a subtle yet provocative message, hinting that Davido may have been seeking his approval.

“Everybody Dey find Big Wizzy,” the singer wrote, adding fuel to the ongoing rumours of rivalry between the two.

This is not the first time the two Afrobeat giants have crossed paths publicly.

Last year, they were spotted together at a Lagos nightclub, where they shared a hug, leaving fans hopeful that their beef had been resolved.

However, Wizkid later claimed that the reunion was not as spontaneous as it appeared.

In a social media rant earlier this year, he alleged that Davido had been the one to initiate the encounter, going as far as saying that the “Unavailable” singer chases him “like a fanboy” wherever he goes.

The longstanding tension between Wizkid and Davido has been a major talking point within the Afrobeat community for years.

While both have occasionally downplayed the feud, their actions and subtle jabs on social media keep the rivalry alive in the eyes of their fans.

The two artists are widely regarded as pioneers of the Afrobeat movement, leading the global expansion of Nigerian music.

Despite their successes, the competitive nature of their careers seems to have kept them from fully reconciling.

With both stars continuing to dominate the music scene—Davido with his recent hits and Wizkid’s global tours and collaborations—fans are left wondering if the rivalry will ever end or if these two will continue to push each other from afar.

Only time will tell if the Nigerian music legends will ever set aside their differences and celebrate their mutual contributions to the industry.
