Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martinez recently shared insights about Lionel Messi’s support for his potential 2024 Ballon d’Or win. Although Messi praised Martinez, claiming he deserves the award more than other top contenders like Vinicius Junior, Rodri, Jude Bellingham, Dani Carvajal, and Kylian Mbappe, the two have not discussed the award directly.

Messi highlighted Martinez’s impressive performance as the top scorer in the Copa America, stating, “Lautaro deserves the Ballon d’Or more than anyone else.” In response, Martinez told DAZN (via EuroSport) that he is simply happy to have Messi back on the Argentina squad. He emphasized that while individual accolades are significant, his focus remains on the team’s success. He acknowledged that any individual recognition he receives reflects the collective efforts of his teammates, coaching staff, and fans.
