FCTA Gives Property Owners Three-Month Deadline to Develop or Lose Land

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has set a three-month deadline for individuals with uncompleted buildings and undeveloped plots within the Federal Capital City (FCC) to either commence or complete development on their properties.
Property owners failing to meet this requirement face the possibility of losing ownership of these lands.
This move is part of the FCTA’s broader effort to address the growing issue of abandoned structures and undeveloped land, which officials believe contribute to the city’s urban challenges.
According to the FCTA, these uncompleted projects not only pose security risks but also disrupt the overall aesthetic and planning of the city.
Property owners are therefore urged to act swiftly and ensure their plots are properly utilized to prevent government intervention.
The administration also highlighted the need for compliance as part of maintaining the city’s long-term development goals, stressing that failure to comply could result in the reallocation of the land to others ready to adhere to development regulations.
