Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, recently extended significant support to victims of a tragic tanker explosion in Majiya village, Jigawa State, offering a donation of forty million Naira along with essential food items.

The donation was delivered on behalf of the First Lady by a delegation led by Hajia Fatima Tajudeen Abbas, the wife of the Speaker of the House of Representatives.

The handover took place at the Jigawa State Government House in Dutse.

Senator Tinubu expressed her heartfelt concern for those affected by the devastating incident, acknowledging the immense hardship the victims have endured.

In her message, she assured Jigawa State’s leadership of her ongoing support and prayers, pledging to stand by the state as it recovers from the tragedy.

Governor Mallam Umar Namadi of Jigawa State, who received the First Lady’s delegation with gratitude, conveyed his deep appreciation for the donation.

He assured that the funds and supplies would be used responsibly to assist those in need, emphasizing that the support from the First Lady was not only welcome but crucial in aiding recovery efforts.

Expressing his thanks, he noted that the relief provided would bring comfort and security to the affected families.

During the handover, Jigawa’s First Lady, Hadiza Umar Namadi, described the First Lady’s gesture as one of immense compassion and solidarity, stating that Oluremi Tinubu’s concern demonstrated a powerful bond of unity and love.

Speaking on behalf of her state, Hadiza Namadi shared her gratitude, noting that such empathy from the nation’s leaders brings strength to the communities affected by such unexpected tragedies.

The delegation later visited Rasheed Shekoni Federal University Teaching Hospital, where several victims of the explosion are receiving medical care.

There, the delegation took time to meet with the patients, observing their progress and reassuring them of continued support.

Governor Namadi further appreciated President Bola Tinubu’s quick response to the incident, stating that the Federal Government’s attention had provided a sense of hope amid the crisis.

He added that many victims are gradually showing signs of improvement under the care provided.
