DJ Cuppy Becomes UN’s Go-To DJ, Calls it a “Dream Gig”
Nigerian DJ and music star, Florence Otedola, better known as DJ Cuppy, is quickly becoming a regular at the United Nations, where she’s had the distinct honour of performing four times.
Expressing her excitement on her X (formerly Twitter) account, Cuppy shared her gratitude for being the “go-to DJ” for the UN, calling each experience “extraordinary” and a true “dream gig.”
Known for her vibrant energy and commitment to social causes, Cuppy’s frequent appearances at such a prestigious global venue have solidified her presence on an international stage.
Her role as a UN DJ has offered her a unique platform to blend her love for music with her passion for meaningful change.
Beyond the music, Cuppy’s association with the UN aligns closely with her other philanthropic efforts.
Through her Cuppy Foundation, she has been an advocate for education, child welfare, and opportunities for young Africans, particularly in Nigeria.
In 2019, she launched the foundation to support vulnerable children and young women, underscoring her commitment to using her platform for impactful causes.
Cuppy’s work with the UN aligns with this mission, reinforcing her role as a global ambassador for African talent and humanitarian efforts.
American actress Jenna Ortega reflects on her days as a child actress and shares how she used to cope on set.
The actress shared how sometimes she would go without eating. “I wasn’t asking for one sip of water. I would go all day without eating, drinking, whatever, because I wanted so badly to not be in the way of anybody.”
“Maybe that was my mistake, was not actually looking after myself,” Ortega added.
Davido shares that he is one of the biggest hitmakers in Nigeria and places a $1 million bet to back his claim.
He praises himself and shares his confidence on a stream.
“I will put $1 million cash on the table. Nobody has more hits than me,” Davido said during the livestream.
Nigerian singer Peter Okoye speaks on his childhood and reveals what he fears the most on earth.
The singer shared that he fears poverty rather than death and spoke on why.
“I’m not afraid of death. The only thing I’m afraid of in this life is poverty. It is being broke. I have tested it before. I have been in our house with our parents and a bulldozer came and demolished the house.
“We were living in a one-bedroom flat with me, my mom, my father, like the whole family. Six boys and two girls live in a one-bedroom apartment.”
