Nigerian music star Tiwa Savage has suggested that the Nigerian music industry might be facing its version of controversies similar to those surrounding American music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs.

In a recent interview on The Beat 99.9 FM in Lagos, Tiwa shared her thoughts on the industry, hinting at potential scandals lurking beneath the surface.

“I think Nigerian music might have our Diddy moment,” she said, leaving fans and listeners curious about what she could be implying.

Diddy, a highly influential figure in American music, has been embroiled in legal troubles since Homeland Security arrested him in September on charges including sex trafficking, racketeering, and transporting individuals across state lines for prostitution.

The charges followed a March raid on his Beverly Hills mansion, where federal officers reportedly seized items they claimed were linked to alleged parties known as “freak offs.”

The officers found various drugs and over 1,000 bottles of baby oil, which authorities suggested were intended for these gatherings.

Despite the severity of the allegations, Diddy has pleaded not guilty, denying all accusations against him.

However, his bail request was denied twice, and the case has sparked widespread public scrutiny.

In the Nigerian entertainment scene, conversations about similar issues have also surfaced.

Recently, popular content creator-turned-musician Oluwadolarz shared a shocking experience, alleging that a prominent music executive had demanded sexual favours from him in exchange for promoting his music.

Oluwadolarz’s refusal to comply became a hot topic on social media, drawing attention to power dynamics and possible exploitation within Nigeria’s music industry.

Reacting to this, Mavin Records founder Don Jazzy even challenged Oluwadolarz to reveal the name of the executive in question, but he chose to keep the identity undisclosed.
