“I Can’t Stand a Bully” – Cardi B Stands Up for Kamala Harris Against Misogyny and Bullying
In a statement shared on her X account, Cardi B voiced her solidarity with Vice President Kamala Harris, reflecting on the challenges women face in their pursuit of success.
The rapper drew parallels between her own experiences as an underdog and the discrimination Harris has faced throughout her career.
Cardi articulated the frustration that many women feel when their achievements are often overshadowed by dismissive comments, suggesting that they owe their success to superficial attributes rather than hard work and talent.
Cardi expressed her anger at the way Kamala Harris is frequently targeted with derogatory remarks.
The Vice President, who made history as the first woman, first Black person, and first person of South Asian descent to hold the office, has been subjected to a barrage of criticism since taking office.
Many of these criticisms are rooted in gender and race bias, perpetuating harmful stereotypes about women in leadership roles.
“Women have to work ten times harder and perform ten times better,” Cardi stated, emphasizing the disproportionate standards women often face compared to their male counterparts.
She emphasized the double standards that come into play when women achieve success, where their accomplishments are often met with scepticism.
Cardi noted that rather than recognizing their hard work, critics resort to hurtful narratives, suggesting that their success is due to their appearance or questionable means.
