Cardi B Fires Back at Elon Musk And Defends Her Journey as an Immigrant Daughter
Cardi B has fired back at Elon Musk after he criticized her on social media, mentioning her struggles and the challenges faced by many in America.
The exchange took place on X, formerly known as Twitter, where Musk shared his thoughts about the Kamala Harris campaign, suggesting a lack of authenticity and genuine empathy.
His tweet read, “Another puppet who can’t even talk without being fed the words.
The Kamala campaign has no authenticity or true empathy.”
In response, Cardi B did not hold back. She asserted her identity and experience, stating, “I’m not a puppet Elon.
I’m the daughter of two immigrant parents that had to work their asses off to provide for me!
I’m a product of welfare, I’m a product of section 8, I’m a product of poverty and I’m a product of what happens when the system is set up against you.
But you don’t know anything about that.
You don’t know not one thing about the American struggle. PS fix my algorithm.”
Cardi’s response reflects her journey from humble beginnings to becoming a global superstar.
Born Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar in the Bronx, New York, she grew up in a challenging environment.
Her parents immigrated to the United States from the Dominican Republic and Trinidad, facing significant hardships to provide for their family.
This background has shaped Cardi’s perspective on social issues, including poverty, housing insecurity, and the challenges that many American families face.
Her mention of “welfare” and “section 8” points to the government assistance programs designed to help low-income families afford housing and meet basic needs.

Two Nigerian music stars, Rema and Asake, have earned a place in former U.S. President Barack Obama’s annual list of favorite songs for 2024.
On Saturday, Obama shared his handpicked selection of tracks from the year, and both artists’ songs were included.
Rema’s hit single Yayo and Asake’s collaboration with Travis Scott on Active made the prestigious list..
The list also saw the inclusion of another African artist, South Africa’s Tyla, who was featured for her song Jump, a track featuring Gunna and Skillibeng.
In addition to the African stars, Nigerian-American singers Shaboozey and Jordan Adetunji also appeared on Obama’s playlist.
Shaboozey’s A Bar Song and Adetunji’s Kehlani were celebrated for their unique sound, adding diversity to the mix.
As expected, the list also featured big names from the global music scene, with legendary artists like Kendrick Lamar, Beyoncé, and Karol G all making an appearance.
These mainstream stars continue to dominate the music industry, but Obama’s inclusion of emerging artists such as Rema and Asake shows his appreciation for a variety of musical genres.
On sharing his list with his followers via X (formerly Twitter), Obama encouraged fans to explore the tracks, saying, “Here are my favorite songs from this year!
