“Music Made Me Famous, But God Had Bigger Plans” – Rihanna Reflects On Her Career
Rihanna, the globally celebrated singer and beauty mogul, recently opened up about how music, though it launched her into stardom, wasn’t the ultimate purpose she believes was set for her.
Speaking passionately at the launch of her Fenty Beauty line in her homeland of Barbados, the Grammy-winning artist shared a reflective moment on her journey.
She expressed that while music initially drew the world’s attention to her, she felt her true calling lay beyond the microphone.
“Music brought me into the spotlight,” she said, “but I’ve always felt that God had a different path for me.
My career evolved naturally, allowing me to create things that felt sincere and true to what I love.”
This evolution saw her shift from a pop star to a major force in the beauty industry, where her groundbreaking Fenty Beauty brand reshaped standards by promoting diversity and inclusivity, offering foundation shades for a vast array of skin tones—a rarity in the industry at the time.
In 2021, Forbes recognized Rihanna as a billionaire, a milestone that solidified her status not only as a musician but as a savvy entrepreneur.
Much of her wealth comes from Fenty Beauty, the company she co-owns with luxury powerhouse LVMH, which generated significant revenue, cementing her influence far beyond music.
Her success extends to other ventures as well, including her lingerie line, Savage X Fenty, which also embraced body positivity and inclusivity.
