Kwankwaso Expresses Gratitude to Dignitaries and Guests at Wedding Walima
Former Kano State Governor and leader of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has expressed deep gratitude to a host of dignitaries, religious leaders, and well-wishers who attended a grand wedding walima held last night.
The event, graced by prominent political and community figures, was a moment of celebration and unity as families and friends came together to mark the joyous occasion.
Kwankwaso, in a statement on his X handle, extended his appreciation to His Excellency, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, the current Governor of Kano State, and his team for their presence and support.
He also acknowledged the attendance of distinguished former governors, including Senator Bukola Saraki, former Senate President and Governor of Kwara State; Chief Celestine Omehia, former Governor of Rivers State; Chief Lucky Igbinedion, former Governor of Edo State; Chief Victor Attah, former Governor of Akwa Ibom State; Chief Achike Udenwa, former Governor of Imo State; Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed, former Governor of Kwara State; Alhaji Isa Yuguda, former Governor of Bauchi State; Senator Abdulaziz Yari, former Governor of Zamfara State; and Senator Adamu Aliero, former Governor of Kebbi State.
The gathering also saw the presence of revered religious scholars and other notable leaders, reflecting the event’s significance as a unifying moment for Nigeria’s diverse cultural and political communities.
Kwankwaso, alongside Alhaji Dahiru Mangal, a prominent businessman and community leader, jointly hosted the walima, which served as a reflection of their shared commitment to fostering goodwill and togetherness.
In his remarks, Kwankwaso offered prayers for all attendees, wishing them safe travels back to their destinations.
He highlighted the importance of such gatherings in building bonds and strengthening relationships across Nigeria’s multifaceted society.
He expressed his joy and gratitude, noting that the presence of such esteemed personalities added grandeur and meaning to the occasion.
Nigerian businessman Isaac Fayose has spoken about what he considers one of the country’s biggest problems, stating that many Nigerians are worried about government taxation, insecurity, and the increasing rate of kidnappings for ransom.
He lamented the situation and criticized the government, arguing that these issues have become deeply rooted and that there appears to be no lasting solution in sight.
According to him “In Nigeria we have two governments. One is collecting tax, the other one is collecting ransom. Both of them have one thing in common which is to make life difficult for their people.
The one that is collecting tax without doing anything will come and share you rice and semolina. The one that is collecting ransom is doing giveaway on social media.”
It was reported that bandits were seen in Kwara State and abducted six residents from Rukpete Village.
The incident was reported to have occurred on June 8 at about 11 p.m.
Sources revealed that seven people were initially taken, but an elderly man was later released, leaving six victims in captivity.
The rising cases of insecurity in the country remain quite alarming.
The state of the country is affecting many people, as they believe nowhere is safe, including schools where they keep their children.
It has been reported that some parents have started withdrawing their children from schools in Abuja.
It can be noted that rumours of bandits being sighted near a school triggered panic, causing parents to hurriedly remove their children for safety.
While the reports of bandits have not been confirmed, the school has also issued safety measures to ensure the protection of students within the premises.
