Nigerian crossdresser Bobrisky has declared he will no longer accept awards or recognitions meant for women after facing a series of controversies tied to one such honour.

The social media personality made this vow while blaming actress Eniola Ajao for a chain of events that began with an award he received earlier this year.

In March 2024, Bobrisky attended the premiere of Eniola Ajao’s movie, where he was crowned “Best Dressed Female” and received a N1 million cash prize.

While the recognition further solidified his reputation for extravagant fashion, it also marked the beginning of his troubles.

Shortly after the event, Bobrisky was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for allegedly abusing the naira during the award ceremony.

This led to a court trial, where he was sentenced to six months in jail. However, his legal troubles didn’t end there.

Following his release, a leaked audio recording surfaced online, in which Bobrisky allegedly claimed to have bribed EFCC officials to avoid more severe money laundering charges.

He also allegedly revealed that his “jail term” was served in a luxury apartment rather than a standard correctional facility.

Recently, Bobrisky fled Nigeria and has since used his social media platforms to reflect on the ordeal.

In a post shared on his Instagram story, the crossdresser pointed fingers at Eniola Ajao’s award, claiming it triggered the chain of events that led to his downfall.

“My problems started when I accepted the Best Dressed Female award with N1 million attached to it.

From now on, if I see any award for best-dressed female, I’ll leave the event immediately,” he wrote.

He went on to boast about his fashion prowess, stating, “Everyone knows I’m a baddie with class.

Compete with me? Never! But when problems become too much, I know when to make a run for it.”
