Eguavoen Confident Super Eagles Will Defeat Rwanda in Final AFCON Qualifier

Super Eagles Head Coach Augustine Eguavoen is confident his team will defeat Rwanda’s Amavubi in their final Group D match of the 2025 AFCON qualifiers on Monday at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo.

Despite already qualifying for Morocco 2025, Eguavoen assured fans that the team will maintain focus, saying, “Our boys are professionals and will approach this game with full intensity.”

He explained the absence of Ademola Lookman due to a minor injury and Ola Aina, who was released to Nottingham Forest for club commitments. He also clarified that Gabriel Osho’s substitution in the Benin Republic match was a tactical adjustment.

Eguavoen praised the team’s strong away performances and assured they are ready to secure another victory.

Akpabio Represents Tinubu at Lagos Bridge Commissioning

However, Senate President Godswill Akpabio represented the President and carried out the ceremony.

Residents of Lagos should prepare for traffic disruptions as several roads will be closed due to the visit of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who is set to commission infrastructural projects.

The commissioning will take place on April 8 and 9, 2026.

Affected areas on Wednesday (April 8):
Opebi, Allen Avenue, Ikeja, Ojota, and Victoria Island.

Affected areas on Thursday (April 9):
Lekki-Epe Expressway, Ikoyi, Victoria Island, and Ajegunle.

Motorists are advised to plan alternative routes and expect heavy traffic during these periods.
