Super Eagles Interim Head Coach, Augustine Owen Eguavoen, reacts to the defeat of Super Eagles match against Rwanda. The Coach focuses on the poor performance of the team’s striker, Victor Boniface.
Boniface has failed to impress the team with his performance and had awful game in the recent match.

The Coach shares to the press about his opinions considering Victor Boniface, “Boniface, we all know what he’s capable of doing, especially for his club and when he comes back here, we try to give him a lot of confidence and playing time but he’s not hitting the back of the net for whatever reason.”

“I’ve spoken to him personally many times. I’m someone who wants to give players confidence. I’ve done enough, but he’s still part of the squad and will remain a part of the squad”.

He shared that the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is hopeful about hearing from them after they submitted a petition against the Democratic Republic of Congo.

“I mean we’re still waiting, well hopefully we can go to the World Cup, but I feel it’s a tough one.

“It’s a tough one because winning AFCON is like… It’s a great legacy, it’s a great thing to have in your career, a memorable moment. But then at the same time, because I’ve been to the World Cup already, a lot of the players haven’t been.”
