“What Influences Me to Do Music Is Hardship.” – Shallipopi

Nigerian singer Crown Uzama, who is better known by his stage name Shallipopi, recently revealed that although he is often seen with cigarettes in his photos and videos, he does not actually smoke.

He explained that his use of cigarettes is purely for aesthetic purposes and not for consumption.

In a candid interview with Soundcity, Shallipopi shared that many of his fans may not know this fact about him.

He emphasized that smoking is not part of his lifestyle, but rather a choice for visual appeal.

“One thing that my fans don’t know about me is that I don’t smoke.

It’s just aesthetics,” Shallipopi said, shedding light on the reality behind his image.

When asked about what motivates his music career, Shallipopi pointed to the struggles and challenges of life in Nigeria as his primary inspiration.

He expressed that the hardships faced by many in the country drive him to pursue music as a means of escape and expression.

“What influences me to do music is hardship. You don’t want to go through hardship in this country,” he confessed.

Shallipopi, known for his hit single ‘Oba Pluto,’ has been making headlines in the Nigerian music scene with his unique blend of Afrobeat and street cultural vibes.

Popular Nollywood actor Richard Mofe-Damijo, popularly known as RMD reveals why he dislikes the description “legend”.

In his recent appearance on Curiosity Made Me Ask podcast, the actor stated that he thinks being called a legend is a scam.

“I think the legend of a thing is a scam, I have my legends like Uncle Pete and Uncle Olu Jacobs; these are our ancestors and legends.

“I have been watching him (Olu Jacobs) when he was saying Ribena children are the healthy children. So I don’t subscribe to being called legend and when they call me that I feel they are trying to relegate me to neighbourhood of retired people or those nearing retirement.”

Tunde Onakoya Aims to Break World Record for Longest Chess Marathon

Nigerian Chess Player Tunde Onakoya sets himself in preparation for a challenge to break the world record for the longest chess marathon.

The chess player aims to reach 70 hours in New York City, from the 17th of April to 20th. The last score noted for the world break is 61 hours.

Onakoya will partner up with U.S. National Chess Master Shawn Martinez to break the world record.

He then speaks on his goal after breaking the world record “My goal is to inspire the world and secure resources to create a massive, tuition-free school for Nigeria’s homeless kids.”
