Fenerbahce head coach Jose Mourinho has firmly rejected rumors linking Cristiano Ronaldo with a move to the Turkish club, stating that he has no intention of bringing the Portuguese star to Istanbul.

The speculation came after reports from Turkish media suggested that Ronaldo could leave his current club, Al Nassr, for a switch to Fenerbahce.

However, Mourinho, known for his straightforward approach, dismissed the claims, explaining that he is satisfied with the strikers currently in his squad.

Speaking to O Jogo, Mourinho made it clear: “Cristiano Ronaldo will not be joining Fenerbahce.

The first reason is that I already have three very good forwards, and I don’t need another one.”

The veteran manager emphasized that he values the attacking options available to him and is not looking to strengthen that area of his team.

While acknowledging Ronaldo’s legendary status in football, Mourinho pointed out that the 39-year-old forward is well-set financially, having earned substantial wages in Saudi Arabia with Al Nassr.

He also mentioned that Ronaldo’s impressive career, which includes scoring over 1,000 goals, means that the player has achieved most of the individual accolades one could aspire to in football.

“What would motivate him to come to Turkey, other than the beauty of Istanbul?” Mourinho asked, indicating that it would take more than just a picturesque city to lure Ronaldo to Fenerbahce.

Mourinho also shared his thoughts on the January transfer window, which is often seen as a challenging time to make significant signings.

“I don’t really like the January transfer window because a new player needs time to adapt,” he said.

“I never say never to a transfer, but I don’t go knocking on the door of Ali Bey or Acun Bey to ask for one.”

Chelsea have turned down Arsenal’s opening offer for promising England U-18 goalkeeper Freddy Bernal. According to Fabrizio Romano, the Blues showed no interest in entertaining the initial £1.25 million bid, making it clear they want to hold on to the young talent.

Despite the rejection, Arsenal are expected to return with an improved offer as they continue their push for the highly-rated shot-stopper. Chelsea, however, remain determined to keep Bernal at Stamford Bridge, where he’s seen as one for the future. Romano also mentioned that other clubs are keeping tabs on the young keeper’s situation.

Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal took a cheeky jab at Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham after his side’s thrilling 4-3 victory over Los Blancos in Sunday’s El Clasico.

Before the match, Barcelona had suffered a Champions League exit to Inter Milan, which led to some Real Madrid players, including Bellingham and club legend Sergio Ramos, showing support for Inter’s Alessandro Bastoni by liking his celebratory post on social media.

But Yamal had the last word after Barcelona’s win. The 17-year-old took to Instagram with a playful message, saying “like this one too” alongside a winking emoji. He posted a photo of himself mimicking a famous Cristiano Ronaldo celebration from 2012, when Ronaldo’s goal sealed a 2-1 win for Real Madrid over Barcelona after a crushing 5-0 defeat earlier that season.

Yamal’s goal, along with efforts from Eric Garcia and Raphinha, secured the victory for Barcelona, while Kylian Mbappé’s hat-trick wasn’t enough for Madrid.

Barcelona boss Hansi Flick praised Lamine Yamal for his mature display in their thrilling 4-3 victory over Real Madrid on Sunday. The 17-year-old forward impressed once again, helping push the Catalan side closer to the LaLiga title.

Yamal netted Barcelona’s second goal with a sharp finish into the corner of the net just inside the box, turning the game around after they had gone two goals down to an early Kylian Mbappé brace. By halftime, Barça were up 4-2. Though Mbappé later completed his hat-trick, Barcelona managed to hang on for the win at the Olympic Stadium, putting them seven points ahead of Madrid with only three matches left.

Speaking after the match, Flick dismissed any notion of Yamal being too young for the moment. “He’s not just a kid,” the coach said. “He’s confident, smart, and knows what he’s doing out there. That goal brought us back into the game and showed just how much quality he has at only 17. That’s exactly what we expect from him.”
