What We Should Do in 2026: Focus on the Inner Self

Published

on

The inner self refers to our behavior, attitude, and reaction to something or a situation. These are things we have gradually stopped considering, as we now focus more on the outer self—material things, impressions, fashion, and lifestyle.

This problem cuts across almost every aspect of our lives: relationships, workplaces, church, and friendships. We often drop the inward version of ourselves for the outward and refuse to take a deep look inside. While this may sound cliché, it is truly needed.

There is a growing trend of accepting ourselves “as we are” or making excuses for our behavior—saying we do not need to change or that we are not the problem. In some cases, people even admit they are the problem but still refuse to change, claiming, “This is who I am.”

The honest truth is that we can change. If we remain the same inwardly, we will always end up in the same place and never grow. Even if the outside improves—money, status, or lifestyle—your mindset and attitude may still remain exactly as people have always known them to be.

So what’s next? Should we be satisfied with only the outward appearance? How then will you truly be happy with yourself when you are alone?
