Nigerian singer and producer Young Jonn has expressed frustration over being left out of discussions about the country’s top musicians.

Despite his impressive musical achievements, Young Jonn believes his background in music production causes people to overlook his contributions as a singer.

The Dada hitmaker shared his thoughts on his X (formerly Twitter) handle, where he stated, “I see how you all leave me out of conversations prolly ’cause I started out as a producer.

Continue! Time will tell!” His message reveals his disappointment but also his confidence that his talent will eventually get the recognition it deserves.

Young Jonn’s journey in the music industry began as a producer for YBNL Nation, the record label founded by Nigerian rap icon Olamide.

During his time at YBNL, he played a significant role in shaping the sound of Nigerian street pop by producing major hits for artists like Olamide and Lil Kesh.

Some of his notable production credits include Story for the Gods, Shoki, and Gbese.

These songs became anthems, solidifying his reputation as a hit-making producer.

However, Young Jonn wasn’t content to stay behind the scenes.

After leaving YBNL, he signed with Chocolate City and successfully transitioned to singing.
