Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman shone brightly in their Champions League clash against Real Madrid, earning the Man of the Match award despite his side falling to a 3-2 defeat on Tuesday night.

The 26-year-old Nigerian international found the net in the 65th minute, giving Atalanta a fighting chance after trailing 3-1.

Lookman’s strike was a moment of sheer determination, showcasing his pace, precision, and composure in front of goal.

However, Real Madrid’s firepower proved decisive. Goals from their star trio—Kylian Mbappé, Jude Bellingham, and Vinícius Júnior—sealed the victory for the Spanish giants.

Mbappé, known for his blistering speed, opened the scoring with a clinical finish, while Bellingham, who has been in scintillating form since joining Madrid, added another with a confident strike.

Vinícius Júnior, continuing his rise as one of the most dangerous forwards in Europe, scored Madrid’s third to further solidify their lead.

Despite the loss, Lookman’s efforts have not gone unnoticed.

Since joining Atalanta, he has shown consistent quality, contributing important goals and dynamic play.

The former RB Leipzig and Leicester City player has also been crucial for Nigeria’s national team, particularly in recent AFCON qualifiers.

Atalanta’s journey in the Champions League continues, as they prepare for their final two group-stage matches.
