Juventus Defeats Manchester City 2-0 with Teamwork in Champions League
Juventus manager Thiago Motta has shed light on how his team managed to secure a crucial 2-0 victory over Manchester City in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
The match, held at the Allianz Stadium in Turin, saw goals from Dusan Vlahovic and Weston McKennie seal the win for the Italian giants against Pep Guardiola’s formidable side.
After the game, Motta praised his players’ commitment, attributing the victory to a combination of tactical discipline, teamwork, and sheer determination.
Speaking to Amazon Prime Video Italia, Motta reflected on the performance, saying, “We played with heart and soul, but also with our heads.
The lads showed the desire to do things the right way.”
The Juventus boss acknowledged the challenge of facing a team like Manchester City, known for their relentless possession and attacking style.
“We knew we would have to defend deeper than usual, but we did it together. It was all about unity and timing.
When we attacked, we did it as a team and struck when the opportunity came,” he explained.
Dusan Vlahovic, who has been a key player for Juventus since joining from Fiorentina, opened the scoring with a clinical finish.
Motta also took a moment to acknowledge the return of several players from injury.
“Having some players back in shape was crucial. Our medical staff has done an incredible job, and it made a big difference today,” he added.
He further praised the substitutes, saying, “Those who came off the bench played their part and gave much-needed support.”
