Okpebholo Calls Oshiomhole a Father Figure at Senate Valedictory Session

Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State has expressed deep admiration and respect for Senator Adams Oshiomhole, describing him as a father figure.

Okpebholo, who took office as governor after his election in September 2024, shared a personal reflection on the strong and enduring bond he shares with Oshiomhole, which extends far beyond their political affiliations.

During a special valedictory session held in his honor by the Senate on Wednesday, Governor Okpebholo took the opportunity to acknowledge and thank several influential figures, starting with Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

He lauded Akpabio’s leadership, calling it extraordinary and effective.

Okpebholo also expressed gratitude to the Deputy Senate President, emphasizing how his wisdom has played a key role in guiding him throughout his tenure.

He extended heartfelt thanks to his Senate colleagues for their unwavering support, friendship, and collective dedication to the progress of the nation.

But it was his remarks about Senator Adams Oshiomhole that stood out most.

Okpebholo’s words were filled with warmth and respect, as he shared the unique and personal connection they share.

“Senator Oshiomhole has not only been a mentor to me but also a trusted guide,” the governor said.

“Our relationship goes beyond politics; it’s rooted in shared values, mutual respect, and genuine friendship.

From the very beginning of my political journey, he has been a steady presence, always offering me sound advice when I needed it the most.”

As the session came to a close, Governor Okpebholo’s gratitude for Oshiomhole was evident.
