“Højlund, Antony, and Mount Changed the Game”- Amorim Praises Trio After Man United’s Win

Manchester United’s manager, Ruben Amorim, praised his key players after their comeback victory against Viktoria Plzen in the Europa League on Thursday night.
The Red Devils managed to secure a 2-1 win at the Doosan Arena, having trailed early in the match.
Rasmus Højlund, who has shown flashes of his potential since his move to United, played a decisive role by scoring both goals.
The Danish striker demonstrated composure and clinical finishing, proving why the club invested heavily in him over the summer.
His goals were a turning point for United, who were under pressure after a shaky start.
However, it wasn’t just Højlund who caught Amorim’s attention.
The Portuguese manager also singled out Antony and Mason Mount for their impact on the game.
Antony, who has faced criticism in recent months for inconsistent performances, delivered a sharp and energetic display.
His ability to drive at defenders and create space gave United much-needed momentum on the right flank.
Mason Mount, who joined United from Chelsea, also stepped up.
His work rate, quick passing, and intelligence in the midfield helped steady the team and unlock opportunities for the attack.
Despite a challenging start to his United career due to injuries, Mount’s performance showed glimpses of why he remains highly rated.
In his post-match comments, Amorim expressed satisfaction with the trio’s efforts.
“Højlund was exceptional, but Antony and Mason Mount also made a huge difference,” he said, as quoted by journalist Fabrizio Romano.
“They’re here to deliver in these moments, and they did exactly that. I’m delighted with their contributions and their desire to win.”

Messi Scores Stunning Free-Kick as Inter Miami Beat Porto 2-1

Lionel Messi delivered a stunning free-kick as Inter Miami fought back to secure a 2-1 win over FC Porto on Thursday. After a goalless draw in their first game against Al Ahly, Inter Miami found themselves behind early on when Samuel Aghehowa scored from the penalty spot in the 8th minute. But the MLS side responded in the second half.
Just two minutes after the restart, Telasco Segovia capped off a brilliant team move with a smooth finish to make it 1-1. Messi then stepped up with a moment of magic. Ten minutes into the second half, he curled a free-kick beautifully into the net from the edge of the box, sealing the comeback and marking his 50th goal for the club in style.

Osimhen Says He’s on Holiday While Big Clubs Wait for His Transfer Decision

Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen has opened up about the growing interest from top clubs looking to sign him this summer. Speaking during a chat with Daddy Freeze, the 26-year-old said he’s taking some time off to rest before making any decisions about his future.
Osimhen had an outstanding season on loan at Galatasaray, where he netted 37 goals in all competitions, claimed the Turkish Super Lig Golden Boot, and even won Goal of the Season. Despite turning down a lucrative offer from Saudi side Al-Hilal, big European names like Chelsea, Liverpool, and Juventus are reportedly keeping tabs on him. Galatasaray are also eager to bring him back on a permanent deal.
“When the season ends and the transfer window opens, it’s normal for clubs to show interest,” Osimhen said. “For now, I’m just enjoying my holiday. I’ve been reflecting on last season — watching my goals, going over my mistakes, and appreciating the good moments.”

Enrique Says PSG Lost Because Teams Always Try Their Best Against Them

Paris Saint-Germain boss Luis Enrique has said that every team brings their best when facing his side. He made the comment after PSG’s surprising 1-0 loss to Botafogo in the Club World Cup on Thursday night, a result that ended their unbeaten streak dating back to May 3.
The only goal of the match came in the 36th minute, when Igor Jesus controlled a long ball and slipped it past Gianluigi Donnarumma. Although PSG dominated possession and racked up 16 shots, they struggled to convert chances. Botafogo had just four attempts, but each one was on target, while PSG only managed two on goal.
“Teams always find extra motivation against us,” Enrique said after the match. He admitted that PSG had difficulty breaking down Botafogo’s tight defense and praised the Brazilian side’s overall team effort. “They defend together, attack together. That kind of unity is what makes a team strong, and it’s why they’re so hard to beat,” he added.
