Didi Dramani Confident Ghana is Ready to Take on Nigeria in CHAN Qualifier

Ghana’s Black Galaxies head coach, Mas-Ud Didi Dramani, has expressed confidence in his team’s preparation for the upcoming 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifier against Nigeria.

The two footballing giants will face off this month, with both sides vying for a spot in the competition.

The first leg of the crucial qualifier is scheduled to take place on Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium, a venue that has been a hub of Ghanaian footballing history.

A week later, the return leg will be held at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, Nigeria, where the Black Galaxies will look to seal their place in the final tournament.

Speaking to Ghana Guardian, Dramani shared his thoughts on the high stakes of the match, stating, “In football, when you want to get to the top, you should be ready to meet the top liners.

For me, it was not surprising that we were meeting in Nigeria.”

Saudi club Al-Hilal has given Victor Osimhen a deadline this Friday to decide on their transfer offer. The Blue Waves are ready to activate the €75 million release clause in Osimhen’s contract, while also offering the Nigerian striker a lucrative deal worth €30 million per season.

Transfer expert Ben Jacobs reports that Al-Hilal remains hopeful Osimhen will say yes. This isn’t their first try to sign him—Al-Hilal first showed interest back in January 2023. Last summer, Osimhen agreed to join another Saudi team, Al-Ahli, but Napoli pushed for a higher fee, delaying the move.
