Jada Pollock, the talent manager and mother of two of Wizkid’s children, recently opened up about the struggles of being labeled merely as a “baby mama.”

Having conversation with BET UK, Jada shared her frustration with being reduced to her relationship with Wizkid rather than being recognized for her accomplishments and professional identity.

Throughout her career, Jada has made significant strides in the entertainment industry, both as an entrepreneur and as the manager of one of the most influential Afrobeat stars of our time.

Yet, despite her hard work and dedication, she often feels overshadowed by the public’s tendency to define her based on her role as Wizkid’s partner and the mother of his children.

Jada reflected on a specific incident that left a lasting impact on her.

After Wizkid’s monumental Grammy win, she had written a heartfelt statement celebrating the rise of Afrobeat music on the global stage.

It was a proud moment not just for Wizkid, but for the entire Afrobeat movement, which has seen incredible growth in recent years.

However, the response from the media wasn’t as she had hoped. Rather than focusing on the substance of her statement, the headline that accompanied it read “Wizkid’s baby mama.”

“I wrote a statement about how far Afrobeat has come, especially after Wizkid’s Grammy win,” she explained.

“But instead of being recognized for the professional achievements that I have worked hard for, the caption they put out was ‘Wizkid’s baby mama.’

The narrative failed to acknowledge that I am an entrepreneur and a businesswoman.

I’ve helped build this legacy, not just as a mother, but also as a manager who has been there every step of the way.”
