Lookman Shines in Atalanta’s Win as Gasperini Claims Manager of the Month Award
Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini and winger Ademola Lookman proudly showcased their recent accolades before their team’s Serie A clash with Empoli on Sunday night.
Gasperini, who has been at the helm of Atalanta since 2016, was recently named Serie A Manager of the Month for his exceptional leadership, guiding the team through a successful run in the league.
Meanwhile, Lookman, the Nigerian international who has been in fantastic form, was awarded the prestigious African Footballer of the Year title just last week, cementing his status as one of the continent’s brightest talents.
The duo’s celebrations were made even sweeter when Atalanta secured a thrilling 3-2 victory over Empoli.
Lookman was once again instrumental in the win, scoring Atalanta’s second goal in a match that showcased the team’s attacking flair and resilience.
So far this season, Lookman has been in excellent form, with 11 goals and 5 assists in 19 appearances across all competitions, a testament to his growing influence in Atalanta’s attacking setup.
His performances have been a key factor in the team’s impressive run in Serie A, where they’ve now won their last 11 league games.
Atalanta’s success this season has made them one of the standout teams in Italy, and Lookman’s performances have certainly added to the excitement surrounding the club.
Former Liverpool player, Jamie Carragher, speaks on Arsenal’s next match and claims that their game against Aston Villa will be challenging and described it as a test for the team to see how well they perform.
“Arsenal have looked the best team in the league by a long way so far this season, but Man City are still only five points behind.
There’s a long way to go and Arsenal will need to keep their heads! It could be tested tomorrow against Aston Villa!!”
Former Manchester United player, Jesse Lingard, has revealed that he has mutually agreed to leave FC Seoul and his contract will end. It is reported that he will leave next week.
It can be noted that the footballer joined in February 2024 and has made 66 appearances since then, scoring 18 goals.
The player shared his experience on social media, saying “My time in South Korea has been unbelievable — the football, the atmosphere, and the passion around this club have been top class.”
“The love, support, and appreciation you have shown towards me over these last two years has been truly amazing. I’ll always be grateful for the opportunity to play for such a massive club.”
Former footballer, Rio Ferdinand compares Arsenal star player, Bukayo Saka, to Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah.
When comparing players, he shared that: “When Saka is on it, he looks unplayable,” however he also stated that even with Salah’s stature, he is strong.
He has got the strength like Mohamed Salah. He is small in frame and size when you look at him, but do you ever see him get pushed off the ball?
“You don’t really see people take the ball off him or put him on his arse. He is a strong little guy.”
