“We Could Have Won Against Enyimba, But Wasted Chances” – Ikhenoba Reflects on Draw
Bendel Insurance caretaker head coach Greg Ikhenoba was pleased with his team’s performance as they closed out 2024 on a high note.
The Benin Arsenals secured a hard-fought 0-0 draw against Enyimba in their final match of the year in Aba on Tuesday.
Despite the positive result, Ikhenoba expressed disappointment at his side’s failure to claim all three points, citing missed opportunities as the main reason for the stalemate.
“We’re happy to end the year on a positive note, but we could have gotten the win against Enyimba,” Ikhenoba said.
“We had several chances to score, but we couldn’t convert them, and that gave Enyimba a chance to recover in the second half.
They too missed some opportunities and were a bit unlucky.”
Ikhenoba emphasized that missed chances are part of football, but stressed the importance of capitalizing on opportunities when they arise.
“That’s football for you. If you don’t take your chances, it becomes difficult to win.”
