Kebbi State Government Reveals Plans to Build Modern GRA in Kawara Village

The Kebbi State government has revealed plans to develop a modern Government Reservation Area (GRA) in Kawara village, situated on the southeastern edge of the state capital, Birnin Kebbi.

Governor Nasir Idris, accompanied by key officials from the Ministry of Lands and Housing and the Secretary to the State Government, recently toured the proposed site for the new development.

During the visit, TPL Abubakar Ahmed, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Lands and Housing, presented a detailed layout for the GRA.

He said that the project would not only extend the city’s boundaries but also address the growing demand for housing while creating new opportunities to increase the state’s revenue.

Governor Idris showed his full support for the initiative, praising the ministry for its innovative approach to urban development.

He described the project as a significant step forward, one that would provide long-term benefits to future generations of Kebbi State residents.

Concern Grows Over Rising Insecurity Following Kwara Abduction Case

It was reported that bandits were seen in Kwara State and abducted six residents from Rukpete Village.

The incident was reported to have occurred on June 8 at about 11 p.m.

Sources revealed that seven people were initially taken, but an elderly man was later released, leaving six victims in captivity.
