Rita Edochie Highlights Double Standards in Cheating: Women Criticized, Men Celebrated
Nigerian Actress Rita Edochie expresses her disagreement with how women are treated after they are caught cheating. The actress stated that men are celebrated but when it comes to women the society judges and criticizes her.
She shares her thoughts stating that men should also be treated the same way. “When a man cheats, they say it’s a man’s world and expect you to applaud him, but if a woman cheats, the man must send you packing.”
“If the man allows you to stay, you must be in hell staying with him. I swear this life has no balance. We live in a society filled with hypocrisy and inequality in gender rights.”
“Why is it that when a man cheats, he’s often met with a pat on the back and a ‘boys will be boys’ attitude? But when a woman cheats, she is shamed, judged, and often sent packing by her partner. Is this really the kind of society we want to live in, where double standards and hypocrisy reign supreme?”
