Peter Obi and Prof. Ozuah Donate N25M to Support Rural Healthcare in Anambra
Peter Obi, former Anambra State governor, continued his nationwide focus on critical sectors like health, education, and poverty alleviation with a recent visit to a healthcare facility in Mmiata, Anambra East.
The hospital, managed by the Immaculate Heart Sisters under the IHM Health System, serves as the only healthcare provider for the remote Mmiata-Anam community.
Obi, alongside Nigerian philanthropist Prof. Ferdinand Ozuah, donated N25 million to the facility to support its ongoing efforts to provide quality healthcare in rural areas. This follows a previous donation of N75 million made by Obi and Prof. Ozuah last year to the IHM Specialist Hospital in Nkpor.
The hospital in Mmiata, which Obi handed over to the Immaculate Heart Sisters during his tenure as governor, has been significantly expanded over the years. It now stands as a lifeline for the community, offering essential services to those who would otherwise have limited access to healthcare.
Obi emphasized his belief in investing in critical areas like health and education, stating that these efforts, along with support for small businesses, are vital for national development. He also reaffirmed his commitment to extending similar support to institutions across the country.
He praised the Immaculate Heart Sisters and the hospital staff for their dedication to serving underserved communities, describing their work as a key part of building a healthier and more productive nation.

Isaac Fayose Criticizes Government Over Taxation and Insecurity
Nigerian businessman Isaac Fayose has spoken about what he considers one of the country’s biggest problems, stating that many Nigerians are worried about government taxation, insecurity, and the increasing rate of kidnappings for ransom.
He lamented the situation and criticized the government, arguing that these issues have become deeply rooted and that there appears to be no lasting solution in sight.
According to him “In Nigeria we have two governments. One is collecting tax, the other one is collecting ransom. Both of them have one thing in common which is to make life difficult for their people.
The one that is collecting tax without doing anything will come and share you rice and semolina. The one that is collecting ransom is doing giveaway on social media.”
