Victor Osimhen, the star striker for Galatasaray, has filed a defamation lawsuit against Turkish journalist Tolga Bozduman following allegations made by the journalist.

This legal action was confirmed by Osimhen’s close friend and radio host Onokala Onyebuchi, also known as Buchi Laba, in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday.

Buchi Laba tweeted, “Victor Osimhen has officially sued the journalist that accused him of hitting him. The case will officially start in court tomorrow.”

The controversy began earlier this month after a tense 3-3 draw between Galatasaray and Dynamo Kyiv when Bozduman accused Osimhen of assaulting him.

The journalist claimed that the Nigerian forward became aggressive and punched him while he was attempting to take photos outside a venue.

Adding to the drama, reports surfaced suggesting that Osimhen had allegedly offered money to have footage of the incident deleted. However, Osimhen has vehemently denied these claims, calling them completely false.

“If I hit him, he’s going to get justice, and if he lied, he’s going to get the wrath of the law.”
