Ruben Amorim Struggles Under Pressure as Man United Manager
Arsenal legend Paul Merson believes Ruben Amorim may be questioning his decision to take on the Manchester United managerial role.
Amorim, who replaced Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford, has struggled to find his footing with the Red Devils. Despite earning a narrow 1-0 victory over Fulham on Sunday, the Portuguese coach has overseen just four wins in 12 league matches, suffering six defeats.
Speaking on Sky Sports, Merson noted, “The pressure’s on him. I don’t see where this turns around.” He speculated that Amorim might already be second-guessing his decision.
“I think the manager will be sitting there deep down and thinking, ‘Should I have taken this job?’ He initially didn’t want to take it until the end of the season, and now he’s probably wondering if he can even turn things around
